Tomorrow the British Open kicks off, needless to say missing an important person that goes by the name Tiger. Today we also found out that the defending champion Padraig Harrington will not be at 100% with a wrist injury, “If it wasn’t The Open I would have pulled out,” he said yesterday, after pulling out of a practice round early.

Needless to say this could be a very interesting open, I am sure many are wondering who will win, as with the absence of the favorite Tiger Woods, the field is open and maybe we can have a really close tournament.

I think it is time for Ernie Els to snap out of his funk and maybe have a run at this one.

John Daly will be playing, and he says he is in good golf shape, the fan favorite always adds a nice flavor to the field.

I am looking forward to a nice tight to the wire tournament.

Anthony Kim AT&T National champ in 2008, he is truly and up and comer, he is a great ball striker, and apparently has been working very hard on his putting. He mad many 10-12 footers and made them look easy this week. He played well in the 1st and 2nd rounds, he slipped up a little in the 3rd round with multiple mistakes, but showed his new form and was able to overcome those 3rd round mistakes and came out in the final round and shot lights out golf.

IN a review of his golf swing it is really and thing of beauty, he might have the best on plane golf swing I have ever seen. He is not a big guy at 5 foot 10 inches, but he can blast it. With his recent improvements in his short game (putting and chipping) he can certainly be one to contend with with the future.

He is now ranked number 5 on the FedEx cup points list and could really be a contender for the title this year, especially with Tiger Woods out of contention.

He is very prideful of this belt buckles, and wants to be known for his over the top, belt buckles. So consider this acknowledged, it was shinny and looks like it had rhinestones on it, possibly pink.

Anyway, his golf impressed me far more then his belt buckle.

Tiger woods offical golf tournement is set to begin today and congressional country club outside of Washington DC. Congressional has been the site for 2 US opens, it is a great course the should be in the PGA rotation.

Unfortunately most spectators are going to be disappointed this year as Tiger is not playing in his tournment this year due to his knee problems. He has been having knee problems for the past year and he tried to come back too early for the US open this year (which may I add he won) and re-injured his knee.

Needless to say he will be missed and I am sure that attendance at this tournment is going to suffer becasue of this. We can look forward to next year when Tiger will grace Congressional with his exceptional golf skills and it is certain to be completely sold out next year.

I guess that being the first go around, it might be just as well that the place will not be sold out.

Golf without Tiger these days, is just not golf.

There doesn’t seem to be anyone comparable to Tiger Woods. He has ruled the world of golf for quite some time now and possibly has now more than ever. After his record-breaking victory in the Accenture Match Play Championship, he won his fifth straight tournament and captured his 15th World Golf Championship. This feat makes him hold all three world titles for the first time.

Tiger Woods has won 63 times on the PGA Tour, moving past Arnold Palmer into fourth place on the career list, one victory behind Ben Hogan, and each year getting closer to the record 82 tournaments won by Sam Snead.
